Welcome to The Woodlands
Every day, we think about how lucky we are to live and work in The Woodlands, TX. Established in 1974 and located approximately 30 miles north of downtown Houston, The Woodlands is a picturesque, forested community founded by oil industry investor George P. Mitchell. Let us take you on a tour of our wonderful community.
In terms of American history, The Woodlands is a rather young community at 46 years old. The original 2,800 acres of land was purchased from Grogan Cochran Lumber Co. and, over the course of an additional 300 transactions, grew to 17,455 acres. Currently, The Woodlands covers an area of about 24 square miles. Over the years, The Woodlands has seen various schools, businesses, supermarkets, banks, and research centers open in town. Dr. Estrada and his wife Linda moved the practice of Edward Estrada, DDS to The Woodlands back in 1999 and are proud to have called this community home for the past 20 years.
